If you are currently jobseeking, OLDC may be able to support you in a number of ways. Click on the links in the text below to access further information.
Our Job Club service (located in Tullamore and Birr) offers support and advice to anyone who is actively seeking employment. We also have a number of work and learning centres located throughout Offaly.
Completing one of OLDC’s Local Training Initiatives in Edenderry, Birr or Banagher will provide you with new skills that could help you in your job search.
We have also developed a ‘one stop shop’ website for all jobseekers in Offaly.
Perhaps you are contemplating starting your own business. If so, you may be eligible to take part in our Business Development Programme. Or your business idea may be eligible for funding or other support under the Rural Development Programme.
If you are undecided on what your next step should be, perhaps you would benefit from some life coaching sessions to facilitate your thinking, explore the options available to you or discover a previously unknown option. This may help you make a more informed choice about your future direction.
Or if you have some free time on your hands you may consider volunteering in an activity that could gain you some valuable work experience.
Why not contact Offaly Volunteering Information Service to find a local volunteering opportunity that you may enjoy.
Possibly you would like to get involved in making your own community a better place to live. Our community development staff support local groups in Offaly at all stages of identifying and addressing locally needs.
Unemployment can be a cause of stress. In conjunction with the HSE we deliver free of charge mental health initiatives in Offaly which anyone can avail of.
If the supports that we offer do not meet your needs, we will be glad to refer you to other support agencies that may be able to assist you.
Contact us for further information on any of these supports.
